Inspecting imports: a practical checklist
Reduce surprises on the floor with a short repeatable inspection habit.
Bring a torch, phone camera, and a notepad. Sample outer and inner cartons when permitted.
- Check seal integrity and carton crush.
- Photograph labels and model stickers for reference.
- Ask how grades are defined on this shipment — terms shift by supplier.
When in doubt, assume you will spend labour on sorting — price that into your margin.
